Brolympics was founded in 2015 by four friends at Norges HandelshΓΈyskole in Bergen: Magnus Skeie, Anders ΓstbΓΈ, Ibrahim Pelja, and Elias Korbosli. The first edition was held in Bergen that same year, featuring classic events such as Beer Pong, Crossbar Challenge, FIFA, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Football Fantasy, Quiz, and the staple event Chug, Chuck and Run. Anders ΓstbΓΈ became the inaugural champion.
Between 2016 and 2019, the event continued to evolve in Bergen β experimenting with formats including Winter Games and Doubles competitions.
In 2020, Brolympics moved to Oslo for the first time, running in what is now considered the modern format. Ibrahim Pelja claimed victory in that landmark edition.
2021 and 2022 were dark times β no games were held.
The event returned in 2023 with 13 participants, introducing the vandrepokal β the travelling trophy that bears the name of each year's champion. Magnus Skeie became the first name engraved on it. In 2024, the gladiator visual profile that defines Brolympics today was born. 18 Brolympians competed, with Jostein Halvorsen lifting the trophy. The event was hosted by founding father Anders ΓstbΓΈ.
In 2025, Brolympics reached a new milestone: 25 participants, competition in teams for the first time, and the release of the official Brolympics song. Five gladiator factions were formed β Murmillo, Thraex, Retiarius, Sector, and Equites. Ibrahim Pelja claimed the trophy and had his name engraved alongside the previous champions. In 2026, Brolympics returns to Bergen for the first time since the early editions β and launches its own app.
